5 Tips for Writers
5 Things to help you write.
We have all heard it said many a time that as a writer you need to have a voice. I find this to be especially true in poetry, freelancing and blogging.
If you are writing a book or short story I don’t think the voice is as important as your style and flair. What you need to do is tell a story and tell it well. While well is a vague word I will attempt to give some tips and reminders to help you do just that, write well.
First you will need to determine what your goals are. Do you want to sell a million copies of your book? If so it has to blow peoples minds. In order to do this you have to have confidence in your writing and in your voice. That is the one common denominator with all top-selling authors.
If you find that your confidence is waivering at times, these tips might help you. Continue reading

Welcome, the poem, soon to be ‘spoken word’
I created this poem to perform as spoken word for my first Pay Day collaboration turning my Gravy Baby poem to song Introducing Ray the Musical Poet. It was to be my intro but I’m not nearly ready to attempt spoken word yet, it’s quite the challenge. If you don’t know much about spoken word I encourage you take a look.
I want to share the poem with you. I’m excited to get it ready to perform. This poem puts into word my passion for collaboration of the arts, to create something new.

I sometimes find myself reading other peoples poetry and not quite understanding what’s being said. Not quite getting the underlying message. I walk away puzzled, unsure if I properly understood what the author was trying to get across. Regardless, I always walk away thinking, pondering and thankful for the expression of thought and emotion.
I really enjoyed writing this poem, so I’m going to share it with you. I have been playing with the ideas of time, transition, elevation, thought, dimension and progression.
