Hey everyone.
One of my New Years Resolutions was to start a blog and to write. It was also to go the gym regularly but that didn’t last too long! The blogging, well I am almost one month into it now and I have no intention of slowing down. I’m loving writing and the blogging community and starting projects like PAY DAY
That being said I started a google + (writingsofamrs Jennifer) account with a You Tube Channel. Here is the address to the Channel it is still under construction but please feel free to sign up (however you do that!?) http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr13m4Cz8ZUgelYk1Lokudw . The primary reason for this is for the ‘release’ or ‘debut’ of Rays rendition song Gravy Baby, along with any other future projects. Please bare with me because I really am walking in the dark trying to make all of this happen. I really appreciate all of your support and encouragement. If anyone has any helpful info for me on how to manage the You Tube channel etc that would be excellent!
I will be posting an intro video followed by Rays video that you can link to through my blog in my PAY DAY Thursday post around 2:00 pm my time. I will give more info about the upcoming Thursdays collaborations along with some other general information.
I’m looking for other song writers, musicians, DJ’s, performers etc to collaborate with so if you know anyone that might be interested please have them contact me! But make sure that they read my original Pay Day post first. ( I don’t need any emails with people asking me for money!) 3 things poetry is not
I don’t know the first thing about poetry. I don’t think I have ever read a poetry book front to back. I didn’t study writing in college or university.
I wrote one poem a few years back. I decided to share that poem last week. Some people seemed to enjoy it.
I think the acceptance of readers and the encouragement of others birthed something that hadn’t been there before. Like childbirth it was unnerving, scary, becoming responsible for something new.

I have been reading a lot of Chucks work lately. He is well known for starting chapters and paragraphs with a punch. He is quite the read.

Becky and the Black Labs
So I am going to see my friend this afternoon.
Around 2:00.
We both have black labs, husbands and children (well, she has a child).
Our dogs love to run and play together. They get along so well.
I love to watch Maya roll around and chase Bailey.
They have returned home from the nature trails and nearby woods with their tongues
hanging to the side and each other’s saliva turned to icicles hanging off of their mouths.
My friend and I pause our conversations to watch them when they come to the
sliding door, to check in with us and laugh. It makes us smile.
Now that winter is leaving us I am sure they will return a muddy mess.
I’m glad they have each other.
I’m glad that I have her.

So there’s this lady that I know,
She challenges me to grow.
Our conversations just flow.
We crunch on baby carrots and sip on tea,
Time together just her and me,
no family
I am such a thinker, ponderer, wanderer,
She helps me challenge that voice,
quiet it if you will, make it still
So that I can reflect and inspect,
put myself in check,
Like I said there’s this lady that I know,
She challenges me to grow.
She’s someone you should know.
Friendship is a powerful thing.

When people’s tags are sticking out of the back of their shirts and having to repeat myself

I love food. Period. It’s one of the greatest aspects of living for me. Favorites include Lox, Sushi and Maki, Fusion food , mashed potatoes with Yorkshire puddings and gravy the list goes on and on..
6. Who is your celebrity idol?
I’d have to say Oprah, she really paid it forward and did some remarkable things with her success.
7. If you had a whole day to do anything you wanted what would you do?
I would be with the people that I love and care about at the beach in the sun, with wine and books, a ‘frisbee’ and football, a paper and pen, fires and food, the sunset and a long drive back home.
8. How would you rather travel?
Car or sailboat
9. What is your biggest fear?
To not live life to the fullest, to be all that I can be for myself and for those around me.
10. What is your favorite sport?
To play, baseball, golf and volleyball. To watch, hockey and football
11. If you were given the keys to any car what would you want them to be?
Porsche 911 GTRS (with a picnic basket in the trunk to stop any where at any time)
