Something to think about.

I sometimes find myself reading other peoples poetry and not quite understanding what’s being said. Not quite getting the underlying message.  I walk away puzzled, unsure if I properly understood what the author was trying to get across.  Regardless, I always walk away thinking, pondering and thankful for the expression of thought and emotion.

I really enjoyed writing this poem, so I’m going to share it with you.  I have been playing with the ideas of time, transition, elevation, thought, dimension and progression.

I am a big movie buff.  I would even go as far as to say that I prefer to watch a movie over  reading a book. *gasp*.  I love the big screen, the loud sound and watching writers words and tales come to life!  I also love eating unhealthy, yummy, buttery popcorn.  It’s the little things in life right? It’s like a grappling hook

Pulling into,

grabbing

Digging into rock

A false sense of safety

Trust and faith in a rope

A hook that can fail

And leave you spiraling

Falling

Tumbling

Down to the ground

You grab hold of the rope

Pulling

While reading this post I was captivated.  I kept going back to it.  It was full of voice, I could hear Kevin speaking through the words.  This post made me think.  It was engaging.  It was curious.  I found myself thinking about Alice in Wonderland it was curiouser and curiouser.  The mind and the memory are fascinating to me.
