A day at the Beach. A ‘Storetry’ Collaboration with my Word Press community. Stuff It Tuesdays with the Mrs. Join in!
Welcome to our first Stuff it Tuesday Collaboration! It was fun to see all of the writing and poems that people came up with and even more fun trying to make it into a fluid ‘storetry’. Quite the challenge. I had all of the entries laid out on my floor last night along with a glass of wine. There are so many talented people in our Word Press community.
I decided to add each persons blog link underneath their entry. This seemed to be the best way to keep track of each entry, so as you read, read past the links and then you can go back and check out people’s blogs when you have finished the ‘storetry’. I want to give a shout out to Valerie. She missed the deadline but also submitted this image so I included. I apologize for having to refuse some submissions. I had to set a time line so that I had time to put this all together. I hope you all understand and that you will contribute to next weeks ‘storetry’ which you will find at the end of this weeks collaboration.
I really hope you enjoy the collaboration.
Alright, enough from me. Happy reading.
A day at the beach with Word Press

I have so many fond memories of days at the beach, packing up the car and spending days in the sun. I love being surrounded by the sand, water and the warm wind. But let me tell you I have many a story about my times at the beach!

The Butterfly Box
There once was a little girl,
With rosy cheeks and hair all a curl.
She loved to dance and she loved to play
In her very own innocent way
Until one day
She didn’t want to dance
And she didn’t want to play
She had all these feelings
that would not go away
Stuff it Tuesday Reminder!
The deadline for the Stuff it Tuesday entries is in 2 hours. Anything received after 4:00pm my time will not be entered to give me time to review and put it all together.
I’m really pleased with the submissions so far, the ‘storetry’ is coming together nicely! Please be sure to stop by tomorrow to see the final result!
Have a beautiful day enjoying the wonderful weather that Mother nature has bestowed upon us.
Happy Monday.
Think Green. Come see what I mean!
How many of us have been to weddings and baby showers or even birthdays and gone out to buy a card to go with our gifts?
Um, I would say I think everyone has at some point or another.
My sister in law (my brothers wife) is pregnant with her second child (my first niece, YAY)
I recently received an invitation in the mail to attend the baby shower. Included was a poem. I want to share it with you,
Although cards are nice with their sentiment and prayer,
They’re read once or twice then tucked away with care.
A book is a treasure words and pictures unite,
Read over and over to teach and delight.
So instead of a card for Babies and Mother,
Please give a child’s book with your thoughts in the cover
Your book will be cherished; God will watch from above,
When it’s read they will remember your kindness and love.
I don’t know whom the author is it didn’t say!
What a nice sentiment.
While I have dedicated many a book (written in the front cover my thoughts and messages) to my children and others this is the first time I have received it in an invitation. This is such a fantastic idea.

Weekly Writing Collaboration Challenge with the Mrs. For writers, poets and photographers…come on I know you have the ‘write’ stuff!
So I have come up with a weekly collaboration idea! I challenge you as writers and poets to “stuff” my opening and closing paragraphs with a written paragraph of no more than 5 sentences or a poetry verse of 6 lines that would fit as the “stuffing” of the story.
But don’t do this… Continue reading
Needs vs. Wants

Money, power, lust and greed,
Some of the 7 deadly sins, indeed
We all know these evils to heed
But so impossible to be freed
Weekly Photo Challenge: From Above
How I long to once again,
look down from above,
to the younger version,
of the eyes from my kids whom I love!
And of course where there are children there are cookies! Here are our gingerbread cookies that we each made over Christmas. One for every member of the family. Mrs. and Mr. in the middle. For more on my family adventures check out my Mommy blog at Writings of a Mrs Mommy
I stand here before you
I realize as I stand here before you
How I adore you
How I long to explore you
To the depths of sand glass time
I implore you
To know me
To show me
The depths of your soul

Now I would like to introduce you to Ray the Musical Poet
Hi Ray. Thank you so much for taking the time and interest in wanting to collaborate with my Pay Day Thursdays, paying it forward. You are the very first! So Cheers to you.
Ray and I decided to share poetry with song. I gave Ray the freedom to take my poem Gravy Baby and put it to rhythm and turn it into a song. We will share the results of our collaboration at the end of the interview.
3 things poetry is not
I don’t know the first thing about poetry. I don’t think I have ever read a poetry book front to back. I didn’t study writing in college or university.
I wrote one poem a few years back. I decided to share that poem last week. Some people seemed to enjoy it.
I think the acceptance of readers and the encouragement of others birthed something that hadn’t been there before. Like childbirth it was unnerving, scary, becoming responsible for something new.
Like many new parents I had no idea what to do but I knew what not to do. Continue reading
