About me

I seem to have this ability to express myself through writing and I rather enjoy it.  I learned from a very young age that if I were to write about how I was feeling or thinking it would be well received, often more so than any attempts at verbalizing the same thoughts.

I want to write. Not only about the things that come easily and naturally for me but I want to expand and broaden my areas of confidence when it comes to writing.  I have never given it time or attention.  I’m not sure how or about what or why but I feel pulled, drawn, that the universe is calling, that it’s time to begin the journey.  It is my hope and dream that I get fulfillment from this mecca of mine.

I want to learn and grow as a writer.  I want to learn and grow as a listener.  I want to learn to engage the reader, stir the reader and most of all connect with the reader.

I would rather save the details of the ‘about’ to my writing.  Let it unravel, to let  you experience and get to know me through revelations in my writing.  I want our relationship to be unique.  Have your idea of who I am and what I am about blossom from with in you.

All that being said to help you know about me, I am first generation born Canadian (family from England) I am in my 40’s, I was married when I started this blog however now divorced and engaged with a new partner, I have children and grandchildren. I have raised 8 children both my own and adopted. I am currently a slow travelling digital nomad wandering, pondering and recollecting as I go.

I care about community, volunteerism, education, travel, culture, knowledge and enlightenment.  I have a big fascination with the Universe, space, time and all of the sciences.

It is important to me that people learn and understand that they are special and unique.  That they have a destiny and a purpose during their time here on this beautiful planet.

I share my life, my story, my adventures and teachings in hopes to help inspire others to do the same.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to bother with my Blog.

      Hi Alexander.
Inspiration comes from many places. But I like to be alone, with a coffee and reading other posts and blogs and I find inspiration in that.
But I also find inspiration in my surroundings and nature.
      How about yourself?

I can definitely relate on the coffee note with a little blog reading too. Nature and just getting out of the house, and immersing yourself in it is very cleansing and helps one to think clearly. Hm, interesting how that works huh? haha. I try to take at least one day a week where I go out to search for inspiration. I call them “artist days” where I will go do something new, something on my own and something that will allow me to discover whatever it is I need to know about myself and about what’s out there. Make it your thing. As far as specific inspirations, I am constantly finding myself drawn to awesome typography, along with black and white photography, which is mainly what I shoot. As for the writing, I like to look over blogs as well, in addition to carousing all of the peace and world change groups I follow on Facebook. They always put out so much to think about and reflect on. I read Eckhart Tolle. I talk to people for inspiration a lot of the time too. Some people are so lost and unsure of what they believe in, that it just gives me a sort of drive to push further on my writing and art in order to help others realize. Help them realize there is more to life than four years of highschool, a college degree and a drab job that will only begin the debt they’re going to be faced with the rest of their lives. There is more to life than paying bills and buying things that you have to keep working years and years to pay off. There ARE those people you will come across though who inspire you in a completely fresh and compelling way. They speak to you and they have so much positive energy flowing out of them that you can’t help but be excited. They have fresh ideas, fresh outlook, and most importantly, a settling peace about them that seems to emanate from them. Those are the people with whom I look for to find inspiration mainly. Hope that you have a great weekend. Thanks for listening to me ramble ha.

Hi Jennifer! Hope all is well, congrats on the success of your blog! I was wondering would you be interested in being added to my list of contacts for upcoming releases of author’s works. It’s a list of people I contact when author’s need help spreading the word about their books. I love your blog and thought why not ask! Just let me know – I wanted to make sure you were included if it was something you were interested in 😀

    Cheers. Ky

“I learned from a very young age that if I were to write about how I was feeling or thinking it would be well received, often more so than any attempts at verbalizing the same thoughts.”

I enjoyed reading this. I too felt more “articulate” with my written words than I ever did with my spoken words. I joke with people that it is probably a short between my brain and my mouth. Who knows? 🙂 Keep writing.

From reading your introduction I get a feeling you are actually a very private person. You prefer people to read your blogs and learn about you through your thoughts and ideas.
I think it’s pretty cool. With so many bloggers “shouting” out who they are and where they stand, it’s nice to find someone a little more mystique.
    More power to you!

Thanks for liking. I love how you “Save the details of the ‘about’ to my writing”. One page isn’t nearly enough to cover “about”, is it? My sole purpose for starting my blog was to not feel so alone, but now I find the writing process itself to be very cathartic!

I enjoyed reading your ‘about’ page – your reference to your book costing less than Starbucks coffee was similar to my own post today about my book costing less than a box of chocolates…seems we think in a similar way! Anyhow, I’m happy to share your journey and would like to wish you every success.

Thank you for liking my poetry, Jennifer. I have been writing for quite awhile and I’m now trying my hand at fiction for the first time. Positive feedback from gifted writers like yourself really helps me to keep plugging away. I love the look of your blog, too. Mine is rather plain in comparison ! I’m not computer savvy enough to construct something so pleasing to the eye. Speaking of things pleasing to the eye, you are pretty cute yourself, if I may be so bold ! I’m a sucker for long hair. 🙂 Have a great day and thanks again for visiting my blog. I really do appreciate it !…..JEFF

Wow! So honored that such a celebrity as yourself would like my poem. So sorry that you liked something so sad of mine but I tend to write from the heart, but I’m thankful for you taking the time to read it in the first place. Hope you do come back to visit some time! Love the layout of your blog by the way. So clean and simple (for the most part). Certainly a fan. 🙂

      Celebrity? I think not…!
Just a fellow blogger sharing my feelings and thoughts like you, whatever they may be. Never apologize for your art! 🙂
I like my space to be clear and welcoming. I’m glad you like it. I wish I knew more about technology to have a layout that I could divide things up a little more, for example poetry, guest bloggers etc.
But alas there are not enough hours in the day to get it all done!
Welcome to my blog and I look forward to reading more of you.

that’s great that you want to write. it’s one of the few things i’ve got left in my life that make it still worth living (of course, not having both arms, legs, or a head leaves a lot to be desired). thanks for liking my poems.
