Hand in hand
I walk and wait
My state
Of mind
Blank
Drowning (in my own fears)
Frowning (the lost years)
The birth
Of new life
Crowning
Rooms away
Reminders of a different day
Full of cries of life
Not anguish and strife
Tears pooling my eyes
I dare not blink
I want the tears to dry
For I fear if I cry
Let a single tear drop
My heart may just stop
Along with yours
The Hug
The Hug
Bodies intertwined
Crossing the lines
Between yours and mine
A hug
A flash in time Continue reading
The Grin
I can feel it creeping in
The little corners of my mouth
Want to turn against me and give in
To an awe inspired grin
Collide

Collide
Wild side
Worlds collide
She tried to live by the rules
Implement her Dr. taught tools
Strategies?
Remedies?
But it was a slippery slope
With only words as her rope
Observers filled with hope Continue reading

The Loon’s Cry
The Loon’s Cry
Outside the tent
Darkness and giant trees swaying in the wind.
The lake is moaning in it’s troubled sleep.
And far across the lazy lapping waves,
Above the crooning of the wind,
I hear a wild loon crying,
Like a weary soul alone in the dark water. Continue reading

Friday’s Featured Poet
Here are a few poems by the writings and poetry of Kristin Peterman.
The fire inside
It’s the beginning of a new day
The sun is rising and warming my face
I feel cold inside despite the warmth from the sun
The fire inside me is fading away
Is there someone who can ignite it again
Each time I think I have found someone
They disappear with the setting of the sun taking a piece of me with them Continue reading

Technology: The Google Generation
It was the dawning of a new era. It was the beginning of an abundance of information made readily available and a way to stay connected, known as the World Wide Web.
I recall my grandfather telling me the traditional stories that so many of us have heard through first person accounts or in a tale in a movie, magazine or newspaper article. “I remember back in the day when I had to walk five miles to get to school with a small coat in the middle of winter. I used to read my books by candlelight with the smallest gust of wind putting out the flame. You young people have no idea how easy you have it.” If having school buses and electricity made our great grandfathers shake their heads imagine what they would think of our life now!
Technology has advanced us in so many ways it’s almost a given that in a group of people if a question arises someone will jump on their cell phone and find the answer. (You know those people)
Technology has especially advanced us in regards to learning. I want to take a closer look at the causes and effects of this new generation. The new ‘tools’ available to aid us in our search for information. The new Google generation, the cut and paste generation and I don’t mean with scissors and glue. Continue reading
